UFO over Greenbank Church, Clarkston, Glasgow.
Date and time of sighting: 5 May 2017 21:32:00
Sighting Location: Greenbank Church, Clarkston, Glasgow.
Witness written account: I have had this photo of Greenbank church in Clarkston Glasgow for many years and always wondered what the white mark on the top right was…It was a clear sky with no clouds in the sky. I didn’t notice it in the photo at first… only later when I blew the photo up. I showed the photo to someone recently and they suggested giving it to an expert for an opinion.
Number of objects seen: 1.
BUFORA Evaluation
Thank you for contacting BUFORA with your sighting report & 3x photographs, and many thanks for your kind donation to our voluntary organisation.
Your case has been passed to myself for evaluation, and I would say that the "white mark on the top right" of each of the 3 pictures has been caused by a 'lens flare' reflection within the camera lens, which often happens when taking a photo directly towards a very bright object (in this case the streetlamp in front of the church). Here is a link explaining Lens Flare https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lens_flare
I think the reason why you say "I didn’t notice it in the photo at first… only later when I blew the photo up" would have been that it was not visible to the naked eye at the time of taking the photographs (because nothing was actually there in the sky), and the lens flare only showed up later when inspecting the photos.
The 'acid test' I use to determine for a lens flare reflection is to draw lines from corner to corner to find the center, then another line from the 'mystery object' through the center and for the same distance past the center, and if it ends up at the bright light source this is what caused the reflection. Works every time, and I include a 'lined photo' below of pic 1 showing what I found.

So in conclusion, I would say that all of the evidence available points to the 'mystery UFO/object' in each of those 3 photographs being a result of lens flare caused by a reflection of the bright street light within the camera lens, and therefore I'm certain that this is what it was.
I do hope that this evaluation has been of some help to you? Thanks again for sending us your sighting for evaluation.
Kind regards
