Welcome to the website of the British UFO Research Association, formed in 1962 and one of the oldest and consistently active research and investigation groups in the world.

Formed originally from an amalgamation of regional UFO societies and individuals, our subject encompasses history, archives, investigations and research and is well known across the U.K. and also internationally. BUFORA works with other organisations which share a similar ethos and approach to investigations and research. We seek the facts through a scientific and factually evaluative approach and our fully trained team of investigators are required to pass a thorough course in all types of sightings, whether it is lights in the sky, vehicle effects or high strangeness cases.

BUFORA work entirely on a voluntary basis. Please take the time to make a donation to us. Any amount would be much appreciated, it would enable us to carry on with our unbiased UFO investigation work and also help towards the costs of organising periodic high quality conferences.

There is a selection of reports we have already completed recently to observe on these pages, in addition to 50 years of preserved printed magazines from when we first started over half a century ago.

BUFORA has returned to staging conferences in locations in the U.K. one was held in Newcastle entitled “UFOs-The Mysteries, Myths and Rumours” in 2011. Our last major conference marked our 50^th Anniversary, it was held in Central London on the 22nd & 23rd  September 2012.

We have research specialists in many overlapping fields of study from specific cases or UFO effects, spirituality, media influence, the wider paranormal and crop circles. BUFORA prides itself on investigating in a scientifically factual approach in the research of the physics of the universe and how this effects time, traveling distances and other dimensions, chemistry and propulsion. Psychology and how cases can be influenced and affected by belief systems and wider agendas are explored.

Some cases have been published in our magazine archives and the more recent investigations are on our webpages. These are only released where the case witnesses give the appropriate level of confidentiality they are satisfied with.

If you like what you see here and you are interested in a balanced perspective in the investigations and research areas of this subject, please feel free to contact the team with a view to participation we positively encourage participation in the investigations course, although this is only compulsory if directly investigating cases that come into BUFORA. We also have members and associates that undertake many vital roles that do not require this course and they are involved in direct research of events, media, graphics and conference planning.
